LA-3A Vocal Trick !

I was just testing out the LA-3A on vocals (comparing it to the LA-2A) and I discovered something great! :)

LA-2A in compression mode followed by LA-3A in limit mode... \"NICE!!!!\"
(yet another reason for a chainer... \"hmm\"...)

Did the same today by mistake (!) ;)

Sounds great on basslines as well.

I also inverted the limiter/compressor chain (LA2a in limiter position followed by La3a in compression position). Although technically stupid, it also sounded nice.

I will buy the La3a just for that .

how about the usual 1176 and la2a combo in chain for vocals but then add the la3a ? I cant test myself as I'm on the road..

I had the LA3A in limit mode after the 1176LN on vocals and sounded very good! Setting LA3A back in compress mode didn't give the mojo as in limit mode IMO.

I clobbered a double bass through the 88RS, into LA2A and then LA3A yesterday.

I was looking for dirt, and I got it!!

On the topic of Interesting compression...

I got the Ohm-force Ohmicide plugin a few weeks ago and it has some of the most freaked out compression i have ever heard (once you turn off the distortion). I mean well-freaky, like you've never heard before freaky...

A truly great plug. Just a tip.
