LA2A native only ?

hey all 👋`

I just bought the LA2A, this one exactly

https://www.uaudio.fr/uad-plugins/compressors-limiters/teletronix-la-2a-tube-compressor.html

it's written that it supports UAD2, but I can find the UADx version only in studio one. it does not show up in my UAD plugins...I still have all the other LA2A, but non that particular version, and the silver that seems to be the closest is still in demo / buy mode.

of course I re authorized my plugins, even reinstalled UAD software...nothing.

and it seems that support bot does not understand my question.

is it really a native version ony ???

Correct. That LA-2A version is native only (for now).
well, my understanding was that this was the same code as the ‘legacy’ (MKI) LA2A, but either way, I guess that yes, if purchased this way rather than as part of the Collection OP won't have access to the UAD2 version.

yes it seems to be an error on the translated product page. I’d contact support and ask for a refund personally, especially since my take is that you actually already have the same thing as part of your Apollo purchase… certainly not worth whatever you paid for it (108 minus 50 I assume).

I guess I should clarify: the Apollo comes with the DSP MKI ‘legacy’ (UAD1) plug-in as part of the Analog Classics suite. If you want the native version of it, then what you purchased gives you that, and it’s not included anywhere else, including the LA2 Collection.

PS: I did a quick test and while I did not have the patience to get them to null due to internal staging and possibly sample offset, there is no doubt in my mind they are the same thing, as seems confirmed by throwing an EQ analyser in the path.

I've got a feeling it's actually the code from one of the newer LA2A MKII plugins with the look of the legacy ones.

@UniversalAudio can confirm whether this is right I'm sure.
I’m pretty sure that’s correct.
Also, I think that the default setting is slightly tweaked, the headroom and the high frequency response. Don’t quote me on that.

It's the silver LA-2A (mk II), with the legacy GUI.
