Latency on Audio-Ins with UAD-Plugs in Cubase SX3

I have following problem... when i am routing a synth via soundcard to an audio-in in the cubase Mixer and put some uad-effects on the latency increases the more plug-ins i use. I thougt the delay-compenstation is going compensate? Did i missunderstood something? How to fix this problem?
I am using Cubase SX 3.

Please help me!

The plug-in delay compensation compensates on playback. It can not compensate on live input, as it can not predict what you are going to play.

with SX3.1 you can use External instruments like you use your VSTi and all the plugs are compensate 8)

Yes, but only on playback, not on live input - i.e. when playing/recording a synth.

So do i have to use the delay-compensation Plug-In from UAD? Or what else? There must be an solution for this problem....???

it is still not exactly clear what you are trying to do! Play life? Play a midi track? The first can ofcourse not be compensated the other can!

O.k.! Maybe you're right and i really wasn't exactly enough... Situation:
I'm having a playback only of VST-Instrument. Everything is of course in time. (Cubase SX3 with automatic delay-compensation)

Now i'm creating a Midifile with a small phrase. This midi-file is routed to my (Hardware-)Virus. The out of the Virus is going back into soundcard and into the In of the Cubase-Mixer. Of course now there is the usual latency from the soundcard. So i manaully fix that by moving the track-Delay in the amount of the latency. Now again everthing is fine and in time when i am playing back.

When i am now opening a UAD-Plug on the input-channel of the cubase-mixer the Virus gets out of time. The more UAD-Plug-Ins i open, the more latency occurs. But only with the UAD-Plug, not with natives. The same thing when i use UAD-Plug on the Master-Bus. The Virus gets out of time.
Is there a solution???

yes, although I havn´t tried it since I don´t own sx3. It´s called external instruments (just like external fx) and should compensate for all latency, but this has to be set up right not just midi out to synth, check the manual!
Good luck and also let us know if it does work.

Yeah, hardware midi delay compensation in sx and nuendo 3.1 will solve that problem.
