Left to Right Channel delay when using Precision Plugs

I use my UADs with Protools and the FXpansion adapter. I noticed when I put the stereo versions of either the precision limiter or eq across the master bus, that I get a delay between the right and left channels. I do not have this problem when using the Cambridge or any other plug ins. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Do you hear this delay during realtime playback, or is it when you bounce out the final mix? Is it a particular channel that is delayed more than the other (i.e. is it always the right channel that is delayed?).

Is this Pro Tools TDM or LE, and what version?
OS version?

Thanks.

Thank you for the response.

I'm using the precision EQ or limiter on the 2mix buss and I'm just listening back. When I installed 3.9 it gave me an option of loading mono versions of the plugins. From what I can tell, only one channel (left) is being limited or EQ'ed, so I think that is what is causing the delay. I am however, using the stereo version of the plugins since there is no option for dual mono on these plugins. I was trying to master some 2 track mixes from a very old project.

I'm almost out of demo time on these plugins and I haven't had a chance to really check them out. I decided to use others on the project I was working on because of the delay problem.

Hi Carey,
Let me suggest 2 things to troubleshoot this.
1) In the FXpansion adapter remove the coverted plugins, and then remove the mono UAD-1 plugins from your MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST folder. Then re-covert the plugins via the FXpansion adapter (you won't have a use for the mono VST plugins in PT LE).

2)Try using the UAD version of the FXpansion adapter you can download from the My Systems page of your http://my.uaudio.com account. I don't know if the full version from FXpansion was ever fully qualified with OS X 10.4, but I know ours shouldn't have any problems.

Is this for anyone with the VST-RTAS and LE?

Hey Hey!

Just reading up on the various issues on the forum while taking a break from my real problem :)

But am I understanding this one right? I've got 54 UAD plugs in my MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST folder. Half of them are the mono versions, right? And I should take this same advice and get rid of them? The reason I'm being specific about the 54 is they're all named with an \"(m)\" except for two of them, the Fairchild, which is named \"Mono\", and the EX-1, which is just named with an \"M\".

Thanks,
Archmart

Yeah you might as well get rid of them since Pro Tools does not utilize specific mono plugins (these are mainly for Cubase/Nuendo and Peak users where there are cases where you would need a mono version plugin).

The best way to get rid of these mono ones would be to open the FXpansion adapter and click \"Remove Converted\". Then go to MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST/Powered Plugins/ and remove all the ones with (m) in the name (as well as Fairchild Mono and EX-1M...these are named differently for a reason not worth mentioning here ;) ). If you don't feel comfortable mucking around there, you can also choose Uninstall from the UAD-1 installer and then re-run the installer and click \"No\" when it asks if you want to install the mono versions.

Then go back to the FXpansion adapter and click \"Detect and Convert\" to make new converted plugins.
