Let's have a kick-ass channel strip that includes:

... a noise gate
... whichever compressor(s) and EQ(s) the user wants, for example 1176SE/LN, LA2A, Cambridge etc...
... flexible signal routing between all modules (including the noise gate)
... effects similar to the CS-1 but with a fixed version of DM1/L that does not reset any parameters when you switch delay modes.
... a free holiday to Hawaii

>>...EDIT...>>
What I mean by this is that the channel strip plugin is a kind of \"wrapper\", into which the user can load his choice of UAD plugins for EQ, compression, and FX (such as 1176SE/LN, LA2A, Cambridge, Pultec...etc). I believe that this would massively increase system efficiency due to the reduced PCI traffic. I am not proposing the modelling of a real life channel strip on a real life desk

The idea of a channel strip plugin kinda sucks, since there are so many already. More individual components are what we need. More EQ's, More Comps, Some Filters perhaps,

Don't know how to vote on this forum, but if I did I'd vote Hell NO

what Henchman said.

I would love to see a realistic emulation of an SSL strip or even some well known boutique strips ( Avalon, Neve, Manley, Jo meek, Langevin ) These would really add a powerful punch to the UAD-1 lineup. It would be a lot of great color to paint with and the ability to have more than one instance of it woould be a dream come true!!

With having the UAD and Waves plug ins, I don't really need any more EQ's or compressors. On top of that my DAW has additional if I need them which are more on the transparent side.

This sounds very good to me.
What has always been missing from CS-1 is the ability to reorder the EQ and compression.
Add to this a top quality gate, and de esser, and I will be happy.
Include tape saturation and I will be as happy as a hippie on Acid.

Forget the wrapper idea though, as this smells like the old chainer type request under a different name.

Yes, I like the idea of wrapper/chainer/plugin-shell or whatever it's been called before. Would give kinda flexibility...
Though it's nothing which couldn't be done without it.

Yes I do agree that...a free holiday to Hawaii is welcome! It's very cold here in Montreal! :|
Something working like Ozone should be very nice.
Re-order at glance, computation or even oversampling having not to go back to host values between plugs, etc...
