Let's have a kick-ass channel strip that includes:
... a noise gate
... whichever compressor(s) and EQ(s) the user wants, for example 1176SE/LN, LA2A, Cambridge etc...
... flexible signal routing between all modules (including the noise gate)
... effects similar to the CS-1 but with a fixed version of DM1/L that does not reset any parameters when you switch delay modes.
... a free holiday to Hawaii
>>...EDIT...>>
What I mean by this is that the channel strip plugin is a kind of \"wrapper\", into which the user can load his choice of UAD plugins for EQ, compression, and FX (such as 1176SE/LN, LA2A, Cambridge, Pultec...etc). I believe that this would massively increase system efficiency due to the reduced PCI traffic. I am not proposing the modelling of a real life channel strip on a real life desk
