Logic and UAD1e Powered Plug Ins Error

Mac Pro 2.66 2gb (10.4.9) + Motu 24i/o + Motu 2408 + Motu Midi Express Xt + Uad 1e extreme + Logic 7.1

Hi everyone, I've been scouring these forums for a while but have had no luck finding the solution to this problem.

That being, I've installed onto the Mac Pro, Logic, both Motu interfaces, the Express Xt and the UAD1 card. The system works fine with logic and the motu's. The UAD card has been authorized and \"looks\" to be working fine when viewed from the UAD Metering App. As soon as you insert a UAD plug in onto any channel I get the message Powered Plug Ins Error - Hardware is not connected.
I've installed the software first (V4.5) then the card, then uninstalled it, changed the slots for the motu and the UAD. Reinstalled it. Updated to 4.6 and reinstalled then rolled back to 4.5 all to no avail. The only thing i haven't had chance to do yet is upgrade Logic to 7.2. Removing the Motu PCI card and just using just the UAD card doesn't have any effect either. Am i missing something obvious (other than the logic update)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

You are right on with with the 7.2 thought. It's needed for intel macs,

Also lots of problem buzz with 10.4.9 on the Logic discussion boards (I waited, so no personal experience)

Logic 7.2 is the first universal binary version of logic so it's impossible to use if you have an older version of logic installed in your mac pro.

i had this problem......

u need to delete the preference file in the main library.....

reinstall the latest software.....

make sure the card is seated properly and visible in system profiler....

i click on the uad meter app before trying to use with logic as i had a hell of a time....and i think it is the perference file.....issue.....

let me know if it helps and if not i can retrace my steps in a more specifc fashion.....

Same problem here, still no solution

I work with Logic 7.2.3 on a Dual Quad Mac Pro, UAD PCIe latest driver. I'm experiencing the exact same problem. When I put the UAD card in any free slot, restart the Mac, delete the prefs (both the UAD meter prefs and the other one from the main Library) start up logic and use a standard plugin from the UAD card (eg UAD CS-1) it works for about 1 minute and then it freezes the entire system. Sometimes restart does not work, I then have to remove the UAD card from its slot (to another one, or just leave it out).

I've also unplugged my lynx aurora firewire to see if it has something to do with that, but no luck.

What can I do next, is there something wrong with the hardware or some other conflict?

Same problem... MacPro 2.66, and 2 New Nevana UAD cards. They're installed for sure - the system profiler says so, but logic can't see them, and I get that error message: \"unable to communicate with UAD hardware. Please make sure your hardware is installed\".
I tried getting rid of the preference file, reinstalling both hardware and software. I can't upgrade to Logic 7.1 becuase Apple don't have it available.

Thanks!

anyone figure out a fix for this ??? This is quite annoying.. I to am getting this error.. I have recently move the card to different slot ( 2nd from the top on my Mac Pro ) since the first slot was giving me continuous errors.. the Plugs and the card actually seemed to have run fine for a number of days and then just one day no matter what I did.. Restarting , Reset and reloading the drivers did not work.. So I moved the card. to the 2nd slot and it was all fine for about a day.. Now the problem is not so consistent but random..

Another thing to note is that everytime this occurs I have opened the UAD-Meter and the card mysteriously is no longer the Hardware ID profile.. However the card still shos in the System Profiler as pci110b,4 Other Multimedia.. So the card is physically there in the Mac.. Reseting the UAD driver seems to fix the issue

Please note that I have tried this on a couple of Programs.. Logic Studio & Live. doesn ot seem to be a Software related issue..

MACPRO 2.66 5GB Ram
10.4.10
UAD-1 PCIe 4.8.0
Logic Studio 8

any ideas ???

thx

Ok guys.. update here.. just wanna reply back.. I made a couple of adjustments.. using the configuration utility.. So far it seems to have solved the issue..

I have unchecked the FORCE Logic to use \" Live Mode\" for tracks with UAD-1 Plugs also.. I have changed the process buffer range to medium.. Prior to that it was on Large..

So far so good.. I'll report back with any updates or findings..
