Well, that's a PITA too (at least compared to Live).

It's funny, when I really got back into Logic, it was so peaceful. Now, with the move and all the nonsense......it doesn't seem like it plays nice anymore :( I'll figure it out.

Is there a way to loop record audio w/o having takes? I've searched for a while now and can't find it. If not, look like I'm going to have to figure out comping
what are you trying to accomplish with this? Isn’t the whole point of loop recording having multiple takes to choose from?

Live has this iirc, was just thinking how nice it would be to record audio this way.....the midi is different. Hey....it's 2025....a man can dream!

Well, the mish-mash of info......from all hosts.....has me pretty clouded.

Two moves, falling for no real reason*, getting a new car, having to wear an eye-patch in public, stranger weather, having to pay rent**, having ass-wipe the butthole below me, now having the loudest apartment person ever above me, hail, being asked not to drink on the shuttle (when haven't 99% of the time), problems with loudness in my voice........and all this......after coming here with the most positive attitude I could have had (not to mention the amazingly awful shit in the previous 59 years.

God hate me. It's not complicated, so trying to RE-FIGURE LP out (yet again) is just frustrating. Can't keep it straight.......sorry.

DO NOT GO PITTY PARTY.......it needed to be said......

*went there in the drinking thread.....I'll try to stay away from that.
**my fidutiary "Pays" it, but the money won't last forever.

You can set the recording preferences to create new audio (and NIDI) tracks in cycle mode.

Not necessarily. Some people use multiple audio tracks within a cycle session for doubling/alternates. That’s just one use.

True. In that case I would change my settings to create a new audio tracks in cycle mode. But it's also very easy to just explode the takes into separate tracks if you don't want to change the settings.

The thing about Logic is that it’s an incredibly deep program, but not everything is immediately obvious. A lot of features are tucked away in menus to keep the interface clean—which I really appreciate. You just have to put in the time to learn it, and before long, you’ll realize there are usually several ways to do just about everything.

I'm juuuuuussssst gearing up for a clean install. Have the windoze machine ready to go, just calling "sparklight" (internet here) and double-checking the apt#. Then I'll be ready to go......maybe.......

Just as there are commands to take a bunch of tracks and combine them into a take folder. You can even bind them with a key command. So really it all boils down to your workflow, whether it is primarily using take folders or a bunch of audio tracks.
