Louis Cato-Tracks Of My Tears Luna session question

I just downloaded the Louis Cato "Tracks Of My Tears" Luna session and noticed that many of the tracks are using the UAD Putnam Mics as an insert.

I don't recall reading about this session anywhere so I was wondering if the Sphere mics were used for the recording, or is this plugin just being used for post recording mixing use.

Which brings up a 2nd question about this Putnam Mic collection plugin...Is any one using this plugin without the Sphere mic just as a plugin for it's mic models and their sonic characteristics?
