Feel free to discuss both UAD and non-UAD related subjects!

    1) Please do not post technical issues here. Please use our UAD Support Forums instead.

    2) Please do not post complaints here. Use the Unrest Forum instead. They have no place in the the General Discussion forum.

Threads posted in the wrong forum will be moved, so if you don't see your thread here anymore, please look in the correct forum.

    Lastly, please be respectful.

I'm not going to waste any more time on this thread.
You can sell your hardware with the plugins and if you read carefully I said it'd lose value but not that much.

Your rhetorical question was indeed a waste of your time so take care!

I also picked up from your post that you’d lose a great deal.

“We're not talking a few bucks but thousands. If I want to go out of the UA universe and sell, it'll be a huge loss, not a "normal" loss (that I was expecting when getting into it).”

A 30% loss would have been within my expectations but now we're talking something around 75% or more, not exactly the same thing. I've watched, before investing in UA, their sales and they weren't too drastic and almost the same for more than 10 years but they turned into Waves within a 6 month span so yeah, I'm not pleased with this change and the lack of respect for all the loyal customers. They did succeed in pissing off even new customers when they kept on changing their bundle and pricing, I mean I don't really see how one could be pleased with this situation.

anyway:
- pro rata complete bundle
- extra coupons for future products for customers (with everything) who paid before this drastic change
- no changing bundles, prices every damn months

That would put UA in the right direction

I think it's the whole point, in fact. Maybe you misunderstood me? I'm talking the complaints from folks who paid more in the past than new deals are offering. Which is about - and I've seen this word used alot - investment devaluation. Which fundamentally involves the price someone originally paid, and who is now upset that the current price has fallen.
This thread title is "Loyalty offer-you guys had yours?"

The "loyalty" promotion IMO, is nothing but a ruse for newer UAD users to buy more plugs, and is definitely beneficial for UAD revenue. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that except calling it "loyalty."

This promotion has nothing to do with what I consider...true loyal UAD users. Again, this means users who have been using and supporting UAD much longer than the past 2 years, the money they spent over many years and at least until up to 2 years ago, I'll assume enough revenue to maintain UAD solvency. I'll add that until 2 years ago, it also provided superior as well as professional timely phone support. Those to me at least, are loyal users. Investment devaluatioin always happens. Is there any audio software that over time has increased in price?

Other forums have been filled with people who mocked, insulted, or simply did not understand what made UAD special for over 20 years. Today, these very same people rave about how good UAD plugs sound. They buy UAD bundles, then brag on forums about their cost per plug. Some even boast about taking advantage of UAD promotion mistakes or "glitches" that are removed within minutes. Do you really think these users are...loyal? Do you think they will really learn these tools and know when to use what?

I do not think this promotion has anything to do with loyalty. As a matter of fact, most newbies who have written about UAD say the only reason they bought UAD was based on price reduction and going native.

Had UAD titled the promotion something other than loyal, I wouldn't care as it would be just another newbie promotion boosting UAD revenue which is fine.

However after many newbie bundle promotions for 2 years, Drew indicated something would be in the works for "loyal" users. This promotion is the result, and IMO it's not for the loyal users who have been using UAD for years.

I think this is well said. I did get the offer, but don’t have any intention of using it. As others have pointed out, the devalued pricing is now like $7 a plugin and anything more than that feels like a not great deal. I’m not bitter or upset about the offer, but it’s not for me. Would have been great to save a bunch of money if something like the essentials bundle if it was available at this price 5+ years ago, but I’ve got plenty of use in these years and I paid what I paid happily.

I do wonder how many users that meet the loyalty criteria are itching for a 10 or 20 plugin bundle when I presume many have all the essentials covered and then some. There are a few newer ones I’d be interested in, but nothing I need for sure. It’ll have to be silly prices for me to buy more at this point, like complete your signature bundle for $39 or something. I’m fine being on the sidelines indefinitely and I suspect UA is fine with it too with how these offers are structured. I’ve made plenty of music before UAD, plenty with it, and if I froze my system now and never got another plugin from anywhere, it wouldn’t be stopping me from making anything.

That doesn't exactly sound like a "user written offer", which is how Drew has tried to characterize this.
I have been off the few forums I follow for a couple months more or less.

Reading this same tired stirring bull**** like I haven't missed a day really makes you think aha

Drew, it's this exact sort of dismissiveness ("they're just here to peddle negativity, etc.) that rubs some people (I'm not the only one) the wrong way, as if it's impossible for someone to just have legitimate complaints about the current direction UA is taking as a company or, more specifically, about certain policies/marketing that UA is engaging in.

And it's a shame too, because I've gone to bat for UA in the past, for various things that have come up (see: David Bock getting let go, or my promoting of Luna, or my actual agreement with you on SOME of the loyalty arguments, etc.). But nuance be damned, I guess? Heap praise on UA for all things at all times, or just shut up?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Your dismissiveness can be very off putting, and it is a major source of the friction that we often find happening between us here on this forum and elsewhere.

Let's do the Zoom!!!! C'mon!! It'll be fun.

There is no dismissiveness coming from me. I read and take in and often pass along all feedback.

Just as you told that user "bye now" for not liking posts they found annoying, all users should take that good advice. Not every post needs to be replied to.

I get that you're looking for a company rep to grovel and apologize for every perceived ill. That's not my role here.

Again, let's do the Zoom. I'm trying desperately to engage with you.

in fact, you know what… you gave me soooo much value on top of this offer, in this thread, that I’m going to change my mind and grab 10 more, hopefully they’ll do it again sometime in the future and we can get the circus 🤡 out again in the wild for unmatched entertainment in this age of boredom that the Tinternetolithic is?

Go on @Quint , do it! There’s nothing like hooking up and talking things through to clear the air. I bet you’ll find more common ground that not. Both intelligent people, gotta be a way forward.

Couple counselling at a very reasonable £250 per hour. 14 day special… running all year 😃

We have different definitions of fun. PM me if you like, if you want to continue the conversation that way, but you may also have to accept that we simply do not see eye to eye. I've mostly accepted it at this point, and, as of recently, I really am only trying to engage with you when I see you send a snide remark in my direction, such as the comment you made in the thread that you linked to, or when I otherwise absolutely must, because CS is a joke now and I'd rather get an answer sometime this week.

You see snide, I see perspective and context.

I will PM you!!
