Update: This time, after manually marking each bar I checked playback with click chasing and it sounded good. I opened BPM box and selected “clips followed Tempo”. Didn’t touch any other buttons (I had already selected Warp types). Played track at new Tempo, and it sounded great Tempo wise.
The BPM kept changing to original values per bar of source, and that may have confused me before.
Can’t wait to try the AI marking BPM on other songs.
Also can’t believe how incredibly Tempo changes don’t negatively affect the songs.

Take the Rolling Stones honey tonk woman and tempo map it…….then flatten and listen

If I create an empty session and drag in, say, 40 tracks, then have the session analyzed (it has tempo variations), are the files warped?

I just had the case where vocals sounded like they had been run through a tape machine with flutter. Unprocessed of course.

So long as the session was created with Clips Follow Tempo off.

Feel free to share the session with support via ticket of you think you found an issue.

@DrewMazurek is there any plans on some guidance on how use these new beta functions? I’m interested in how to best prepare your session to use Extraction. I have had various results so far. I noticed it’s a dealbreaker for Extraction to first implement Set bar one.

First, these are not beta functions. Those internal notes were posted temporarily by mistake.

There is no prep needed. If you find an issue, open a ticket.

One thing I'd love to see is how you'd handle extracting the tempo map of a recording and then set a fixed tempo, since the layout is a bit different now.

I am knee deep in a tutorial for a new DSP plugin that is coming soon.

BTW, that process is not much different than my current Audio Quantize vid, except you don't need to build the tempo map any longer.

I just assumed that the absence of “guidelines” was to the fact that it was put out as beta.

I edited the bass track with warp, and it messed up my midi drums somehow.
How is that possible?
Worst of all; It is probably autosaved.
It just happened, and I don't know if I dare open it again to check..

1. Never open it again and move on with life.
or
2. Open it and fix the problem.
or
3. Open auto-saves to find the version before the mistake.
or
4. Open the prior version to where it was when you first opened it.
or
5. Open a backup of the file and continue from there.
or
6. A combination of these things and/or something else.
