Luna handling Native vs Apollo plugins

I really appreciate the folks on this forum as I work to migrate from Logic to Luna.

Today’s question is how Luna handles native and apollo plugins. I worked with UA native plugins in Logic with no problems. Now I’m using an Apollo Twin with Luna and have added some non native plugins and I’m running into DSP issues. I know that some plugins use more dsp than others and have already decided to upgrade my duo to a quad to help with this. Does Luna know to only use dsp for those plugins that need it and let the cpu handle the native ones? I’m also not clear about the role of the console these days. Am I supposed to use it or can I just stay in Luna and ignore it?

You can just use the Native plugs just like you did in Logic, no? The native ones are labeled UADx while the DSP versions are under Universal Audio...

You don't have to use Console at all with LUNA as most of it's functionality is built-in in LUNA... or you can use Console Tracking Mode and use console pretty much just like you did in Logic...

Thanks. I never used the console with Logic because I had a Volt 2 interface. I guess I need to get up to speed on what Console Tracking Mode is.

Of you're using Luna, you can ignore console and Luna will handle it all. As mentioned, the UAD native plugins will show as UADx.

As far as DSP usage- here's a chart that will show you how much DSP each non native plugin uses:
