Luna Only Using Efficiency Cores - MacBook Pro - Strange Behavior

Started getting high Render levels during a mixing session. Luna seemed to switch from Performance Core usage to only using Efficiency cores during the middle of the mixing session. Of course normal behavior would be for Luna to use the Performance Cores. I've had Sonoma 14.5 installed for more than a few days and haven't had issues in other sessions. Restarting the computer didn't fix. Haven't tried other fixes.

Any ideas or has anyone seen this before?

Screenshot attached. You can see one moment it started using Performance Cores and switched back to Efficiency.

I know jack all about the exact working and rules used to specify the so-called ‘quality of service’, but it would seem logical that on battery power processes would more likely to be ran on E cores.

If on charge I guess there might be a number of things that would lead the OS to dump a process to free up P Cores, even something as basic as switching the application to the background to access the desktop or a browser (or Activity Monitor itself)?

I’m just speaking out loud, but it certainly is my understanding the app cannot enforce which cores to run on, only strongly hint they’d prefer P cores to do X or Y.

I think you’re correct. Apollo trickle charge wasn’t enough power today and my battery had fallen below 10%. Problem went away after connecting the power adapter. Thank you!
