LUNA: Wish for integration of UAD-2 plugins in the TAPE and CONSOLE sections

Dear UAD,

You are doing a fantastic qualitative job with LUNA and I am looking forward to its constant improvement and evolution.
I do own 10 DSP's (1 Apollo Thunderbolt Twin MKII, 2 Satellite Thunderbolt Octo) and 131 UAD-2 plugins.

Among these plugins, I do own the UAD-2 (DSP) versions Oxide Tape, Studer A800, ATR-102 and API Vision Channel Strip.
Today, you can only use the UADx versions of the above plugins in the respective TAPE and CONSOLE sections of LUNA.

THE WISH: Having the possibility to switch to the UAD-2 versions of the plugins to be used in the TAPE and CONSOLE sections.

I can imagine this being extremely complex but you could fulfill this wish if you take the time to do it right. I have no doubt about your software engineers skills and long experience in this domain to make it happen and so relief the computer cpu in favor of the DSP's.

Thank you for reading and perhaps considering this wish.
Have nice holiday season,
Stéphane

Good idea. I do like the automatic switching for the Console section, but I think I would prefer to be able to keep it DSP and manually switch it to native myself, or an option to choose auto or manual.
I love how everything is going to native for my laptop use but my main rig I have plenty of DSP and using tape, console, extensions, and especially the new Sound City plugin destroys my CPU.

I am totally with you (y)

As a bit of a workaround, you can use the API Channel Strip, API 2500, and the Oxide and Studer tape plugins as UAD-2/DSP if you put them on an insert (instead of using them as an extension).

Drew mentioned in the thread linked below that the API Strip and API console extension are "sonically the same". Not sure if the same applies to the tape plugins.

They are sonically the same but the major difference comes from the console itself by having the sum of different busses or of all tracks/busses in the mix thru the summing circuits based on the hybrid tension/power from API. It definitively sounds bolder and warmer then if they are used as normal inserts. Anyway, we can already proceed with the inserts. This wish is a nice to have.

Same goes for tape. Although the plugin versions do have more features/parameters
