LUNA: Wish for integration of UAD-2 plugins in the TAPE and CONSOLE sections

Dear UAD,

You are doing a fantastic qualitative job with LUNA and I am looking forward to its constant improvement and evolution.
I do own 10 DSP's (1 Apollo Thunderbolt Twin MKII, 2 Satellite Thunderbolt Octo) and 131 UAD-2 plugins.

Among these plugins, I do own the UAD-2 (DSP) versions Oxide Tape, Studer A800, ATR-102 and API Vision Channel Strip.
Today, you can only use the UADx versions of the above plugins in the respective TAPE and CONSOLE sections of LUNA.

THE WISH: Having the possibility to switch to the UAD-2 versions of the plugins to be used in the TAPE and CONSOLE sections.

I can imagine this being extremely complex but you could fulfill this wish if you take the time to do it right. I have no doubt about your software engineers skills and long experience in this domain to make it happen and so relief the computer cpu in favor of the DSP's.

Technically it's not the UADx version but LUNA EXTENSIONS that are used in the TAPE, CONSOLE and SUMMING slots. And with LUNA now available for everyone without Apollo interfaces as well, I doubt that they will make LUNA extensions run off DSP...

You are right but you got my point.
LUNA is now available for everyone without Apollo interfaces is not a reason to forget about professionals running UAD-2 plugins for a long time and deserving further integration of these in LUNA as its support both.

Personally I think it would be a waste of the developers' time. DSP for mixing is a shrinking market (will live on for recording for a while).
There's so many other things LUNA needs. And you can already add the UAD-2 plug-ins using DSP if you really want. Not in as ergonomically, but you can if your computer's CPU really struggling when using the native extensions.

I do agree, it is a nice to have. We urgently need more tools/automation capabilities to work on the arrangements and not only considering recordings, better midi integration for all plugins whatever slots is used with learning everywhere for external controllers, better track automation enveloppes editing functions (curves, templates, etc)...

"general" forum, asking about UAD plugins, seems like you need not shame somebody to post in specific point. Folks posting about SSL plugins in this location less useful thant posting about UAD SHARC plugin question.

Can't see why we would want integrated tape. Any 3rd party Tape plugin in the right slot would work but one thing they should all have is linked controls and linked I/O volume knobs.
