I may be wrong, but I don't think we're ever gonna see a FW UAD-1. It may be a hardware limitation. Remeber the core technology for the UAD-1 is based on a PCI Multimedia solution. Maybe theyve looked into it and its not possible to make it work properly over FW. You would think that if it was possible they'd have done it by now.

While the Mac mini is definitely cool, I wouldn't look to this as a competent audio machine (with or without the existence of a FW UAD-1). It is designed as a low cost option for users who want to try out the mac platorm or even just have a small portable Mac for your \"Digital Hub\". There are several other limitation inheriant in it's design, but it is what it is; for a media server, office machine, or just your first mac, it rocks...for professional audio work...eh, not so much :)

What would be cool is having a bunch of these little guys all networked as a supercluster and...oh wait, no gigabit ethernet.
