Here's what I can add:

The Mac Pro fully supports DMA mode. You do not need to override it.

The card doesn't noticeably affect the Mac's CPU. Logic has to do some math to compensate for the UAD's latency and, very rarely Logic gets a little confused. But if I hit stop and then play, it seems to clear it up.

I have one UAD card. Someday I will probably get another. But I really wish I could use the Mac's CPUs for these plugins. This computer is way way faster than the UAD-1e. I can load up inserts with native plugins and no added plugin delay, but one UAD plugin and forget about software monitoring.

The Mac Pro doesn't power down the Firewire or USB busses when sleeping with the UAD-1e installed. When booted in Windows XP, it sleeps perfectly, however.

Hi there!I recently bought a Dual Xeon 2.66 Ghz wich I then upgraded to 3Gb Ram from the standard 1 Gb,then I bought and installed 2 Uad1-e at the same time and downloaded and installed 4.4.1 ua software but it kept telling me that couldnt detect the hardware,I then downloaded the 4.4.2 preview software and then it detected it.I havent been able to use it an a lot but I have been messing around on some really heavy on plugins tracks and worked completely fine.
I hope it helps!!

I hear there's still an issue with not being able to put the computer to sleep.

From what I hear you'd need to run nuclear simulations to affect the CPU! :D Seriously, we should have the option of running some plugs natively with the card acting as a dongle (in addition to running other plugs). Sorry, back on topic...

I couldn't agree more. The only limitation I'm experiencing on the Mac Pro is the UAD-1e. I have BFD and Reason running the background, Gearbox plugins on several tracks... the CPU meters have tons of room to spare. It's really annoying to have to freeze every single track that has UAD plugs. Give us native plugs. My CPU is more than 8 times faster than the card!
