magma chassis dead?

I just tried to power up my 7-slot magma that worked perfectly the last months. it does not power up correctly anymore, it seems to be dead except for one short flash of the green LED whenever I switch the power knob on. but after that, it´s dead. I will try to change the powersupply, but if that does not work, has anybody had a similar problem and found a solution?

thanks!

ok, changed to the original loud-as-a-jet powersupply and it seems to work again.....

any recommendation for a good, noiseless supply that I should get?

Thanks!

Interesting. I have this exact problem and still have it even after changing the PSU.

Like you say, sometimes when swtiching on there is a slight \"clunk\" but nothing starts up. I have always thought it was a dry joint somewhere and my fix - which I don't like - is to whallop the case hard a few times until it starts! Once it does start, it is 99% reliable but if you move it around, chances are it wont start again the first time.

I would like to know exactly what is happening though!

gotta try that too, I do not want to use the BOEING powersupply forever...

Thanks!

Just curious, what's the make of the silent PSU you've installed?

Is 350 Watt enough?
I'm running a http://www.quietpc.com 550W beast - it's almost silent - and find the power is really needed. It's surprising how fast 350W will get eaten up.

For a Magma it should be more than enough.
