I want to watch it, but I'm afraid....Dave :ROFLMAO: If I click on it, I'm likely to have every RB vid ever made on my recommendations  (I'm in hell with that kinda thing right now)

I hear you.

I have two YouTube accounts on different browsers for that reason.
I only use the main account with the YT app for recommendations I want to see.

I love listening to Bob Clearmountain talk because he makes you feel like - there are many ways to do this thing. You don't have to be that precious about every decision. Your focus is on the song.... the artist's vision. Listen to it. Adjust YOUR brain.

Right on!

I worked with a producer/mixer who wanted to turn our music into his music. That was a non-starter for us.
A great producer/mixer serves the artist and music.

It depends who is paying. Many times a mix engineer is hired to make the music suit the label's agenda. Not that bad a thing as the artist can be too invested in the music and lose sight of the bigger picture. In the best of all worlds it should be collaboration between the artist and someone coming in (like Clearmountain) with a fresh perspective.
I was once in the studio with Clearmountain on a mix and was too intimidated to say anything. He probably wondered why I was there and hoped I wouldn't say anything. This was before the internet and I knew him for Springsteen etc. I had no idea he had such a major history with Nile Rogers and Chic. I was a major Chic fan and If I had know I would have interrogated him on that.

I love how the Australian punk band spoke their mind to BC and he realized he needed to serve the artist and their sound and not try to recreate another Roxy music masterpiece.

Not to go all OT, but that's the issue with many of us "do it yourself" peeps. It's hard to wear different hats for all that is involved. Many (including me) get lost in mixing when we should be producing for example. Many hats for one to wear....which one at a time? Easy to get distracted.

Anyways swaite, I'ma watch this right now.....I'm being spammed hard by youboob anyways, maybe this will flush some of that junk out.

Rick’s recent interviews have all been great! If you watch his YouTube videos please remember to subscribe…he was saying that a large number of viewers aren’t subscribed. The more subscribers he has, the more of these great interviews he can produce.

He just went over 4 millions sub recently.
I started watching when he was at 10,000 subs.
Huge growth since then!

Sorry, I was not clear. I was referring to Ricks second channel: Rick Beato 2. There is has less than 500,000 subscribers. Some this recent really great interviews are on the Channel.

OMG with "subs" and all that. Doesn't he have enough money? :ROFLMAO:

BTW, as with most of his interviews, this is quite excellent swaite. I'm only about half way through, BUSY morning....just taking a little break right now.

What is the purpose of having two channels unless they are focused on completely different things???

I don’t understand RB’s strategy.

I only sub to RB1.

He makes his money by selling his music-related products.
I suspect that’s why he wants people to subscribe. So he can market his products to them.
Products sales help pay for travel and film crew expenses for the interviews he does outside his studio.
it ain’t cheap to travel these days!

Again, not to be OT, but I thought all that SUB stuff made money somehow. Sorry if I'm just ignorant. I know he complains about it allot :ROFLMAO:

There is advertising money from Google but some of his big vids get demonetized so he relies mainly on product sales from what I can see. His bundle sells for $99. I imagine he has sold quite a few of them but there is always room for more sales :p

a little math:
let’s say only 1% of RB’s 4 mm-plus YT subscriber base buys the $99 bundle. That would generate nearly $4 million in revenues.
not bad!
