Mobo Recommendation: 5 PCI AMD 939 socket

I want to get another mobo for my DAW. I recently had my Asus A8V Deluxe go south and though I got a replacement, I just found out it's a refurbished unit which I'm not happy about.

So, thanks to Jim Roseberry I am considering the Gigabyte K8U-939, which has everything I want but NOT Firewire and I'm gonna be out of PCI slots.

I don't -need- Firewire right now, but it would be nice to have for the future.

So... recommendations:

I have 2 UAD-1s, a Powercore Element, and an RME PCI with a daughtercard so -technically- I have a slot available, but on the ASUS board that slot in the case was used by the daughtercard.

Suggestions on:
1. Motherboard
2. Any Firewire options if one has no PCI slots?

THANKS!

How about?

Gigabyte K8NSNXP or

GIGA-BYTE GA-K8NS ULTRA-939

...both seem to use the nForce3 chipset. Any problems with Poco?

Suntower,
maybe not the direct answer to your question, but still ...
I was in the same boat some months ago and decided to get rid of the Powercore since I only used its reverbs anyway and my UADs have priority.
I got around 450€ for the PoCo with the Intonator and bought IK Multimedia's CSR for reverb instead (Crossgrade incl. Groove Maker LE 210€).
CSR uses extremely little CPU and sounds much better than TC's stock reverbs.
I can continue using my A8V del with 100% stability and great performance, and honestly don't miss the PoCo a bit since CSR and the UAD reverbs form a nice team.
So if you don't have big money in extra PoCo software, this solution might be worth a look.
Cheers, Cooper

---I'd love to. But, like the A8V Deluxe, I can't find 'em -anywhere- here in the states.

There are dealers that will sell a 'refurbished' unit, but there's only a 90 day warranty---not gonna do that.

Thanks, though!

I'm using this board with 3 UAD-1's and an RME HDSP9652 (with daughter board).

MSI Neo2 Platinum (nForce3 Ultra)

Great board if you want lots of PCI, just don't use an Matrox G450 with it as it causes problems, I use a MAtrox P650.

It also has firewire...
