Multiband : not bad !

Yeah I couldn't resist to buy it straight away.
I am not rich, but you know how it goes with uad and engineering madness.

I sometimes use the Waves Lin Multiband, but my impressions are quite different.

I can hear the UAD workin ! , attacks/releases more responsives and a very clever mx control !

My god ... :|

Depending on the song, hearing what the multiband is doing could be a good thing or bad thing. That is why in reality it is good to have both; the Waves Mastering and the UAD Mastering software. I have not tried it out the UAD multiband yet, but I am sure I will. I love the Waves linear multiband in helping control kick's, snares, and blending the freq's together. It does this without messing up the sound it took so long to get for the two track mixdown. My mix has always sounded better with it on when switching the bypass button and and off.

At this point I am convinced that the Prec EQ is more helpful to my studio than the UAD multiband. You really need some good basic understanding on how to use a multiband compressor to get good results. Sound on Sound magazine's web site has a search where you can get great articles on compressors and multiband compressor techniques.

Yeah thanx for the infos,

but its ok,

i just haven't been clear with my words. I actually feel having more control of the different dynamic spectri than on the waves lin.

anyone else tried ?

So are you saying that it imparts a sonic imprint on the sound, or that when adjusting the bands you can hear an improvement in the sound?

I think what Revelation is talking about is something that puts a sonic imprint, like an "analog warmth" or something to the sound, rather than being a transparent type of plug.
