Native Cooper Time Cube, please!

That would be a bonus. Regardless, the Cooper Time Cube remains an exceptional plug-in with lots of excellent presets ready to add a little magic to your mix.

Say you had to pick between Time Cube, and EP-34 Tape Echo. Which do you choose?

Oooh, I have to choose? That's not fair.:p

If I really have to, I guess I would choose the Time Cube. That produces an effect that cannot be duplicated with any other plugin. And while it would be cool to have an "authentic" Echoplex, there are a lot of tape echos available as plugins that can come pretty close to that. Honestly, I would never be able to identify whether it was an Echoplex or something else just by listening to a recording. On the other hand, the Time Cube is instantly identifiable on recordings. I can tell right away. Nothing else does that. It's sound is completely unique.

Easy for me... Time Cube over EP-34 any day. CTC gets put on almost every lead vocal track I do. EP-34 is pretty much only in a special situation for me.

But, I will say with 12 DSP cores, the CTC has a pretty low impact on my DSP limit. I would much rather have Ocean Way Studios!

This is where I'm leaning, for the same reason.

I'm trying to prioritze "different" things in my UAD collection first. Since the Apollo came with the Precision Mod delay, the EP-34 is somewhat more redundant to it. The Time Cube is kinda whacky.

Good to know about the DSP (I hadn't checked)! I have just one DSP core, and the only plugin I'll be running on it in the mix is the SSL bus (I need the rest free for tracking). I can squeeze the Time Cube in there for sure.

Ah, the Ocean Way sounds great, too bad it's not native. It may be older and have a lot less features, but the sound of it is more suitable for what I do than the Sound City.

Oh yeah, with only one core I can easily see why you would be all over any native plugin you can get your hands on! They will probably port over both the EP-34 and CTC sooner rather than later I would think. OWS might take a while.

You can get 18 CTC's on a SOLO for what's it's worth.

EP-34 for me. Actually my favorite delay, even over my hardware Space Echo's.

How do you use it with vocals?
I’m asking because lately I’ve noticed that I use Cooper mainly for Haas effect nowadays, but remember using it much more years ago. I’d really like to fall in love with it again.

But what about the RMX16! I want that one soooo much.

Been using Wave Alchemy's Glow and it sounds quite nice, but I still want some more adjustment.

I grew up on the OG Echoplex and to be able to use it now is really nice.
The biggest thing was there was always a fine line between yeah I like this and oh no when using it on certain sources but the plug allows you to get more Echoplex and less mishap.
You can definitely use it on a lot more sources than you might think.;)

100%. This is the kind of novelty type plugin I'd like to see UA port to Native - there isnt a ton of competition for this particular plugin, and it seems a waste of DSP to run something small/light like this.

Honestly the default settings work really nice on vocals. Just a dab will do ya!
