Hi everybody !

I am new to this board because I just bought an UAD a week ago . I attend to mix a project I am working on . My question is :
I wonder what compressor to use for drums / Bass / and vocals , what is the most used ones for each of the tracks I mentionned. And I also wonder what´s the solution to get midi strings sound nice ,witch reverb shall I use ?

I know there is many ways , but I am very open for others experiences.

i don't think there is a right answer to that question. i tend to use the la2a on bass, and the 1176 on drums, but not always, and only after experimenting to find out how they all sound in different settings.

I have been getting real good results on drums lately using the fairchild.
Put one each on the kick and snare, then run all drum mics to a bus and slap another Fairchild on that. compress the kick and snare fairly hard, and use just a bit (-1 or so) on the bus. I think that the fairchild sounds good on almost
anything you run through it, even with no compression at all. Have fun...
