Need Help Tightening Electric Bass Fundamental

Hi.

I posted the following in the Songs section. Below is a song that uses 'slap' bass. I like how the 'snap' sounds, but I can't seem to get the root (thumb) notes to sit properly. Either they have the necessary GIRTH but then everything sounds boomy -or- I reduce the bottom (100 hz) and they sit nicely, but then there is no beef to the root notes. Also, any adjustments to the bottom always seem to mess up the snaps which I want to leave as they are.

Any suggestions?

The basic bass tone sounds ok, maybe lacks a bit weight to my taste.
I would copy the exact same bass to another track and put
Steinberg Warp on track 1 and LPF anything from 85 to 350 might work.
Leave the track 2 as it is now, but HPF to the same frequency than LPF on track 1. I kniow Warp is for guitar, but I insist to try it. Keep the default setting it has when it starts up! :D

One good tip for dividing frequency is to search for a 'bad sounding frequency' and have the cross-over there. It makes a natural small dip there.

I've done this several times and works for me. I'd say more than 50% of the songs if you don't have the bass end right, you can't make it sound like a record.
