Hello Lony,

you can start with a ProjektPak or better a FlexiPak. The flexi is higher priced but comes with a 500$ plugin voucher, at the end of the line it's the better value. The hardware is exactly the same (PCI + PCIe versions available).
There's an included standart set of plugins (see UA home for details) that doesn't need to be authorized - no extra cost for some very useful tools. Further Plugins need to be authorized but the prices are reasonable. Stunning hi quality plugins! You can demo all the pay-plugs for 2 weeks, so you'll know what you buy.

Why in your signature and most of this forum members I see 3 or 4 UAD-1 cards .What it means , that you can use more Plugins or what ?

Can this 3 or 4 UAD-1 cards be different or must be the same .P.S all UAD-1 Flexi Card ?

Because we need to use more UAD-1's plugins simultaneously on the machine.
Recently the UAD-1's plugins are pretty CPU(DSP) hungly.

For example, if you'd like to use THREE Neve 33609s, it's necessary THREE UAD-1 cards.

btw, I'm using three cards.

well it depends...
look... no matter what kind of pack you are getting... it will get to you as a standard card (project pack like).
to get all the rest of the plugins (like in the ultra pack) you'll have to register your card on UA's web...

now... you can register up to 4 cards on 1 group (using up to 4 on 1 computer)

now... if you authorize an extra plugin.. it will authorize on every card on the same group...
here's an example :

you can buy 3 project packs (standard) and 1 ultra pack (with the standard plug + most of the \"add on\" plugins)
and when you authorize the add-on plug-ins from the ultra pack in the internet (after authorization you'll get to download an installation file) it will automatically authorize all 4 cards.

the same as if you buy an extra plugin on the UA shop...
you buy it... and you download an authorization file to install it on ALL your cards on the same group.


got it?

so... if you want... you can get 3 project pack and 1 flexi...
that will give you 4 cards with 500$ voucher on the UA shop to get whateva extra plugs you like to authorize on all 4 cards...

or...
get 4 flexi packs, and get 4 cards with 2000$ worth of voucher to get like... all the d*mn UA shop!

and i say D*MN!!! and i know what i say!!!!

BTW... check the promotion UA're having... they got good stuff from time to time... like if you get an UDA-1e you'll get from 100 to 250$ worth of voucher for the UA shop...

and they had (for the last 3-4 month) realy great deals like that...

To make sure you understand about the cards...
The UAD card is used for processing the plugins.
Any of the 'packs' come with a card, and a minimum of plugins to start with.
Each extra software plugin costs extra, beyond the cost of the processing card. When you buy a Flexi-pack or more expensive 'packs', you can cash in your voucher to get more plugins.
If you need more processing power to run more plugins in a live rendering of a recording session side-by-side, then you can buy up to 4 cards to run on one pc.
As far as buying the plugins, it makes sense to purchase a package that gives the most money to spend towards the plugins that you will want to use.
Some folks want every single plugin, while some might benefit from only the mastering plugins, or only emulations of vintage gear, etc.
So, don't feel that just because you can use 4 cards and buy every plugin they make, that you have to.
Also, you get 2 weeks trial time to check out every plugin, to decide what you really want and need. There will be more plugins coming in the future, so budget ahead planning that some of them will probably be something you want.

Now all thinks are bit clear for me .

I will purchase UAD-1 Flexi Pack , after this I will test all trial plugins and will choose what I definitive need .

What if I buy UAD-1 ULTRAPAK , can I use \"Neve 88RS\" , because I can't see in voucher choice .

Finally I'm in UAD-1 family
Today I was buy one UAD-1 Ultra Pak , and now I'm testing my UAD-1 .

...I just did the math. With no promotions or discount, then you have to pay 3118 $ for the complet collection of plugs....That's 2 flexipacks and two expert packs (with the crossgrade).... + 118 $

...Still cheaper than the powercore setup

and if you get 2 felxi 2 expert... you'll pay... 3500 (ish)

thats 1000 $ less!

but wait... if i get 1 extreme, 1 expert (so i have the money to get helios, LA3A and 88rs! and spare some change), 2 project... and i pay.... 3800 (ish)
