I finally installed the new 4.3 software and I must say that the neve sounds incredible, so smooth. I didn't even find much difference between the normal and se versions. =P~
Is there any information whether UA will also do an SE-version of the future neve compressor? It seems to be a very good idea to include a light cpu version too. Any info of the release date?

Strangely incontrast to almost all threads I have read I don't like it at all. It isn't as sweet as the URS plugs to my earsh. It sounds a bit harsh on the top and not so open as many would like to believe. I think that they are releasing the neve stuff in order of preference. I am sure if the 1081 was out first people would not be buying the 1073. I love UAD plugs, but this one is very very sadly a pass for me. I have been working with it for a few days now and it is no improvement on the URS, Waves and others in my arsenal. Maybe it is true to the original. There are some interesting test of other gear such as the ssl bus compressor on Gearslutz, and the URS beat the real outboard as well as duende on many blind test. just goes to show that a brand name is not always the best sound. When I got the URS I was blown away and I was expecting the same here. I have been sadly disappointed after a long wait. i am sure the next two will be more useful... at least I hope so.

Yeah, I really didn't like the URS comps.. their S-Series and A-Series EQs are really good.. but the rest of all their plugs really aren't that good.
Maybe they worked hard to nail those two EQs and used another approach with the rest of their plugins.. something like the \"rich man's Nomad Factory\"
use standard dsp code and put fancy optics on it (surely better optics than Nomad).
IMO their Neve emulation stinks.. it has those attributes you mentioned the lovely UAD-1 Neve has in your opinion: It sounds a bit harsh on the top and not so open.
Did I mention that URS comps suck?
