I typically lurk on many forums, I try to never bother anyone with Newbie questions--the Search Tool is my friend 
So as my first post, I would like to describe my Apollo setup, with how things are connected so that anybody doing what I'm doing or similar, will have the ability to follow in my footsteps, minus all the mistakes that I made to get it working perfectly.
Here is my rack setup:
Furman Power Conditioner
Apollo 8 Thunderbolt 2 daughtercard
10 input xlr/4 output TRS homemade patchbay
Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 (4 ADAT inputs to ADAT in on Apollo 8--clocked by Apollo 8 via ADAT, 4 mic pre outs to Apollo line inputs 5-8) using 96k sample rate
Behring Ultramatch Pro SRC 2496 via S/PIDF with two ART LPS II mic preamps, clocked via BNC word clock in from Apollo
This has now worked flawlessly for the last couple weeks. I include two photos of the setup if anyone is interested.
