Hi there, does our beloved mac expert knows anything about the new g5 range?

i guess the dual 2 gig is the best choice for uad user as it has pci slots only, but it will be good to be sure before upgrading

thanks!

The dual 2.0GHz would be the best for using multiple UAD-1 cards, since it has the regular PCI slots, like the previous dual 1.8GHz. I've got 2 UAD-1 cards and I just ordered a new G5 dual 2.0GHz. It will be here next week, so hopefully UA will have their drivers updated by then to work with Tiger.

Does that mean that an Audiomedia III card can be installed in a G5 2 GG ???
>I bought my new Mac 2 days ago and I saw here and there, previously, that only G5 1.8 GG had PCI slots, and that other models had only PC-X slots...
In view of this I purchased an Audiophile 192.
If the above is true I bought it in vain (?)
Thank you for bringing me some enlightment  :?

Although I haven't gotten full confirmation from someone at Apple, the very newest Dual 2.0 (as of Thursday the 28th) looks like it will be good with the UAD-1. It looks like they just took the previous line, clocked them up a bit, and tossed in some DVD burners ;) That being said, the Dual 2.3 and 2.7 will be ones that cause lower performance from the UAD-1.

Tiger drivers are in the works.
