Man, a LONG time is a severe understatement even with the caps :)

I gave up on Raven a long time ago, sadly, although I still haven't sold my MTI2s yet. Always had to re-calibrate, reboot, batch buttons not working, having to trouble-shoot all the time. Great idea, but wasted more of my time that was worth it. I also ended up never gelling with touch faders. Inorganic for me. For plugin control and some editing, yeah, but even then I found it very difficult to let go of the touchpad and keyboard (I don't use a mouse) for editing.

Didn't they announce 4.0 like back in 2016 or thereabouts? That's a long time. And the company line about resolution was that any resolution higher than 1080 is not useful for touch... Now it is? Just disappointed overall.

Do we know how well it works with Luna Extensions?

If I was going to upgrade from iPad and mouse control, I would definitely go for a tactile controller. I have my eyes on an SSL UF8, but my wallet has eyes elsewhere.

I felt the same way when I tested a Raven. That and the lousy resolution -> returned and never looked back.
The idea was way better than the actual experience.

I don't think the Raven 4.0 software is available yet, so no clue. I would assume if Luna is supported then the extensions will be a part of that.
I just can't imagine trying to turn those API 550 knobs with a touch screen...

It works - also because of its low resolution, but it's still a flat pane of glass, which is a completely different sensory experience to three-dimensional knobs.
I was pretty underwhelmed.

the MP MIDI CONTROLLER works great with UAD plugins. benefit of touchscreen and real knobs.

What am I looking at here? (not familiar with that controller) ... is that a touch screen like an iPad? I see knobs around the perimeter - are those knobs how you control the plugin?

ya, checked out ravens couple of times, but its seems a lot of user experiences are lot different ( bad) compared to the whiz bang everything is so speedy videos

the comment above about the controller actually introducing new inefficiencies really struck home for me

if using a controller introduces new regular steps and motions, where is the efficiency gain: nowhere?

I'm very deep into logic and the only controller I am watching is the new nektar.

yes.... was early adopter of v1, now the v2 even better. It's a touch screen, and then assignable or pre-assigned knobs around the sides; easy to assign to anything on the screen; comes with tons of plugin presets. You can also hide the knob feedback on screen and then pinch zoom the plugin. So stuff like the (ahem) hideously tiny Avalon UAD plugin becomes usable. I forgot to include link (doh) - https://mpmidi.com/

Hold up that thing looks cool!

Edit: I'm not talking about No Blinking Steven's back-from-the-dead touchscreen thing. I'm talking about the MP Midi device!
ROTFL ... yeah, I find him grating as a "personality" but that is my bias. The MP MIDI Controller is really slick. I actually replaced the knobs on my v1 with metal knobs for bespoke device. My v2 I just put some silver stickers on top as in the photo I shared kinda hard to see in dark. My rant on folks who make black on black devices never work in low light studios apparently :)
