Right on Drew! good to see you here. I just jumped over to the UAD world and couldn't be happier. This is a great community here too. Have a great day and see you on the boards.

Just like 42 has special meaning to others? Or, is that just my daughter when she visits me and hotboxes the garage?

jord

Hi everyone,

Drew Mazurek here. I’m the new Technical Forum Guru for Universal Audio. I'll be your new “official” source for UA information on this forum — as well as providing an open ear for all your feedback.

My aim is to visit this forum every weekday (and likely some weekends as well-it’s hard to stay away!), and I’ll be here for extended periods during product launches.

So, a bit about me…

I’m a self-taught engineer whose teenage hobby morphed into a career. I started mixing professionally in 1988, and spent the ‘90s and early ‘00s making records in traditional studios with consoles and tape machines, before transitioning to DAWs in 2003 while working with Linkin Park. I first heard UAD plug-ins about 7 years ago, and I’ve been a faithful convert ever since.

About two years ago I became a Product Specialist for UA, visiting dealers and studios in the Mid Atlantic every month. I also teach audio engineering at The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. And most importantly, I continue making records every day and still love it.

UA is lucky to have such a great group of passionate, knowledgeable users manning this “unofficial” forum. I will undoubtedly lean on many of you (Matt, Dan, Don, Richard, etc.) for your vast experience, but I already feel at home Bluestacks Kodi Lucky Patcher .

A final note is that, while I will do my best to be as helpful as possible here, my goal isn’t to replace UA’s world-class Customer Support team solving specific customer issues. My goal here is to add value to the discussion, and answer questions on a broad range of technical topics and ideas.

I look forward to getting to know you, and helping you in your creative pursuits with UA.

Drew
Congrats! I see you instruct at Peabody, you should be entirely Bluestacks Kodi Lucky Patcher neighborhood to where I am

Nice to meet you congratulations

in the meantime, I have placed a universal ticket

for the following issue I have not gotten a response. Could you help me with this please
(#756753)
Thank you

On my new apollo x4
Every time I change from 44 to 48 kHz or
ViceVersa

The clock will flash red once on console and all 4 mic pre will not Accept input , I would have to turn off the Apollo and back on to have the mic pre’s accept input again

With my Apollo twin x that I upgraded from this was not an issue
Running on Apple M1pro os 13
And logic

I started a support ticket with universal audio but have not heard anything. Can anyone else help out?

I have already reset the Apollo several times
I have already reinstalled the software several times
still issue exist

Support aims for 48-72 hr response times, and they do not work weekends so look for a reply within that time frame.
Yours came in on a Sunday, so your time started Monday at 9AM pacific.

Welcome! Maybe you can help me figure out why i'm having this issue where I just upgraded the software for my thunderbolt Apollo Twin Duo yesterday and ever since then I only see 4 of my 15 UA plug in's in UA Console that I used to use a lot while tracking (using the apollo's processor and being able to track live with them, or just monitor with them while tracking or whatever) but yea almost none of them show up now and i have no idea why.

The ones that show up are:

UA-610 B channel strip
Ampeg SVTVR Classic Bass amp
Marshall Plexi Classic guitar amp
Raw distortion pedal.

The ones no longer showing up are:

ANTARES AUTO-TUNE REALTIME
CS-1 channel strip
PRECISION CHANNEL STRIP channel strip
PRECISION DELAY/MODULATION delay
PRECISION REFLECTION ENGINE reverb
TELETRONIX LA-2A LEGACY compressor
UA 1176LN LEGACY compressor
UA 1176SE LEGACY compressor
PULTEC EQP-1A LEGACY eq
PULTEC PRO EQ LEGACY eq
REALVERB-PRO reverb
SOFTUBE AMP ROOM HALF STACK
SOFTUBE BASS AMP ROOM 8X10

They all show up in Ableton and I can use them there, but the whole point kinda was to be able to use them with the audio interfaces processor in real time/no latency (especially stuff like auto tune real time) which I need to be able to load them in UA Console to do, and they always USED to work, only since yesterdays upgrade they no longer show up. They even show up under UAD Meter and Control Panel when I hit the UAD-2 button on the left and go to Plug-Ins, they show all of them and the ones I have say they're authorized, so I have no idea.

Oh man thats so sick. RIP to the singer, I met him and he was a really cool guy. Amazing band
Yeah, I spent A LOT of time with Matt in the studio. Such a talented but troubled dude. His funeral was a rough one.

For one of the records we spent almost 3 months in Vancouver, so all we did was work. Beautiful room:

Hey, they still have my quote up!!!!

Hey, what songs did you work on with Linken Park? Very interesting.

I hope this is the right thread for that.
It's just a feedback and wish type of post.

I hope the next gen of Apollos have even better conversion or maybe come up with an answer to the Neumann MT 48.
I like my Apollo and I love UAD plugins. But my Apollo Twin X sounds a little bit muddy in the low mids.
I've been looking for a while now to replace it with a more neutral/analytic kind of sounding interface/DAC to get the best
listening/mixing and mastering experiences.
Drew, I know you can't talk about future releases but I want you let know that I'm pleased with the support.

I thought about maybe switching to an Antelope interface or the Neumann MT48 and using my Apollo as a Sat and of course all of the Native UAD plugs.
But both of these companies seem to have worse support than UA.
Since I already invested in UA it would feel better getting a new Gen Apollo even if it would cost 2k+ and maybe have more DSP and the option
to connect it to my current Apollo and expand my ecosystem.
I have a chance to get a Discrete 4 pro for around 800,- but I fear driver support will be horrible. I'm also on Windows 10.
I have hope for something great to get announced at NAMM 2024 in January.
