i have an apollo solo usb
and i need help. on my volt if my son didnt want to hear himself while recording i could simply mute the record track and press the direct monitor button on the interface.... i do not know how to do this on the solo any help please

With Apollo if you do not want to hear yourself, you mute the channel in Console.

But if I'm recording my son how do I mute him but I still hear him in the engineering room

Cool, so this is what Cues are for. So you listen to Mon out in the control room and you feed a Cue to the booth where you can mute him.

You'd send the Cue to the Headphone out and use it to feed the booth while you listen to Mon out L/R
