No audio Going through my Twin

He Everyone!!

I'm new here. I am Finally setting up my studio and I have an Apollo mkII 8p and twin quad mkII. I have the two linked with an optical cable, while both run into my trashcan with thunderbolt 2 cables. when I try to record vocals through the quad I get sound but no signal is coming into my DAW (ABLETON 11).

Help?

one more thing, monitors are connected to the 8p. is that correct?

thank you so much!! I daisy-chained to the 8p. set up was correct for the monitors. if I plug the mic into 8p it shows up in Ableton. but if I plug into the twin it does not show up. do you know of any other articles?
