No sound from DAW after system wakes from sleep

I have an x8p and x16 chained together on a Mac mini M2 Pro. Running Cubase 13. When my machine wakes up, and I open a session, I get no sound output - no metering, no nothing. Oddly, I can record, I just can't hear or see any sign that the Apollos are getting a signal from my DAW. The only way to fix it is to restart - OR - oddly, I discovered that hitting the "Default" button on the I/O Matrix in the new Console does the trick. I am not switching DAWs during the day or anything - no changes in inputs or outputs, and my Cubase outs are set to the monitor outs as they always are. So why?????

I'd appreciate any ideas or stuff I can try to bring back the original behavior where when you open up a session and hit play, you get SOUND.....

My solution has always been to not let my Mac sleep when my Apollo is turned on. I use Amphetamine (app) to keep my Mac awake if Luna or Logic Pro are running.

Maybe someone has a more eloquent solution.

Apollos don’t like sleeping Macs.

Rust never sleeps, and neither do any of my Macs or PCs!
