Not living in America sucks on UA releases

Ok... so here in Sweden it's about 2pm. In Sydney, Australia it's about 10pm! This sucks because...

In Santa Cruz it's about 5am!

UA doesn't go to work in like 4 hours!!!

God knows when they actually are going to release the new plugins, but my bet is sometime today (friday) before the weekend (their local time ) This means that we might not get to hear those precious dsp manglers until saturday morning here, and those poor bastards in australia... well... all I can say is, I feel ya'! 8)

It's times like these that I wish I was living in California.

I bought my 1st UAD-1 in Cali last year, we went to Santa Cruz later that week to the \"Mistery Spot\", I hadn't tried or heard it or I probably would've gone to the UAD building and have my picture taken in front of it or something nerdy like that.

Santa Cruz is really nice by the way, great veggie burger American diner too!
Oh yeah and the time difference sucks indeed !

while i spent a good part of my youth living in Europe (italy) and im sure Sweden is beautiful (never been, but I did really enjoy Finland the one time i was there, so pretty close geographically if not necessarily culturally)...it's fantastic being able to try all of UA's newest plugs the second I get home from work.

That and the weather...two BIG reasons I love living in California.

Sweden is one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Green and pretty in the south/summer, with a cold desolate beauty in winter once you get up past Ockelbo... Just snow, trees, and widlife. So beautiful.

When do they get off? 5 or 6p.m? I bet they wait just until they're closing down so they can release it before the weekend so they do not have to deal with any possible support issues right off the bat regarding the new release. :idea:

No not at all!!
It's just that since we have 14 days to demo a new plugin once we've installed the update, and everyone has recieved a voucher that needs to be used before the 30th... and for people like me who have already bought everything in the store.. then in all fairness that would mean that the update would have to be released today. But that is just a lot of positive thinking talking! :roll:

Ok.. I re-checked my facts here......

The vouchers are valid until 1st of July... and that's 14 days away as of monday the 18th. Guess we won't see a release until next week then. :|

I still haven't figured out how they do that illusion where you stand on the path looking up the slope at someone 8 or 10 feet away and they look huge, and then you swap places with them and look down the slope and they look tiny.. I could understand if you were in one of those funny rooms with the sloping floors, but this was outside with just a few trees and bushes around the place... must have bben the 'magnetic fields' lol

Going by statistics it's faily reasonable to assume it will be released friday 29th of june.

48 hours to frantically download, demo, purchase, etc.. would be really cutting it short and I am not sure UA's servers could handle the load. Not to mention all the complaints from users that did not have the opportunity to download, evaluate & purchase because they were unaware of that release date or had other obligations (family, work, out of town, etc....) during that short time frame. I am sorry honey, but that weekend getaway we had planned will just have to wait. I've only have 48 hours to download and evaluate the latest v4.7 UAD-1 update.
I think it would be more reasonable for UA to release the next update a week earlier, say this Friday. June 22nd.

I don't really care since I'm buying both as soon as they are available, but I'm thinking of the poor bastards who need to decide what to spend their vouchers on!

And of course, it wouldn't hurt to get them as soon as possible. :roll:
