Nobody tried the 1073 yet? (one of the lucky few that were able to grab it, that is) I was hoping to see some first impressions.

I have downloaded 4.3 but I'm not in my studio and I'm going to bed. Its past 1 AM here... :wink:

I managed to grab the Mac version, though it might be taken off again now.

Played with the 1073 (not the SE) for about 10 minuttes. What can I say... this is pure magic... I never thought I would be this impressed.

I don't care what anyone say when comparing it to other clones out there (URS, etc). This is by far one of the best sounding eq's I've ever tried in my entire life and I'm getting it as soon as UA put's it up for sale.

I downloaded as quick as I could, in a matter of minutes (thankfully I have a very fast DSL). I had a feeling once UA noticed their servers getting hit hard, they would cut it off. Anyway, I have v4.3 installed, in addition to the Neve 1073 & 1073SE plugins there are some minor bug fixes:

RE-201: improved accuracy of displayed delay times
RTAS: third instance of CS-1 no longer crashes Pro Tools


The number of Neve 1073 instances, per UAD-1 card is pretty darn accurate. I tried to add a 7th instance, of the Neve 1073 and the UAD-1 stopped responding until I deleted it out, of the FX bin. With 6 instances my DSP is @ 75%-76%. The 7th instance pushed it to 83%-84%, but it would not play. I have (2) cards, BTW.
I am still evaluating the EQ, but I like what I see and hear so far. At this point, I see no reason NOT to purchase it once the demo period runs it's course.

Only thing mildly dissapointing is the fact that 4.3 doesn't bring anything new in terms of how many cards you are allowed to use pr. lisences. There's still only 4 card slots in the system info and roumours had it that this release would increase that number to 8.
