older mac G4 with UAD cards = weird distortions

I was a little back in the dark ages, on OS9 with old logic, and have now moved to OSX4.4 with 2 x UAD's and a trial of Logic Express 7 with AU core audio running a Motu 828mkii. I get this random hissing distortion after I have loaded up some UAD plaug ins. Same thing was happening on OS9 so that's what made me upgrade, but the problem still exists. Anyone else still on an older mac (400mhz) and having these problems.

Logic complains about midi sync issues, Is midi sync possibly coming through my monitors?

thanks

Hi Pauly,
I know form my experience with older macs, that the problem is the graphic-card on the pci-bus.
I guess your old 400 doesn´t has a agp-bus yes?
I had a second graphic-card in my G4, 466, in the pci-slot.
That just caused this hissing distortion trouble.
Then I throwed it out, only worked with agp-card, everything was fine.
