One scrolling window for inserts

Hello! In previous versions of Luna , it was possible to view all the inserts of a channel strip in one long scrolling window. So I could have one consolidated plugin window that would show the GUI for all the inserts on that CS, and just scroll between them. I can't find how to get this view, was the feature removed in the current Luna?

I‘ve been using LUNA since it has been released and I cannot remember this feature. Are you confusing different DAWs here? Or did you use sth. like GuitarRig, where you have a lot of FX modules displayed in a single window?

I'm also not quite sure what you mean.
Do you mean the view of the inserts in the mixing and editor View where you can scroll through them. I don't know an extra floating window from Luna either.

Yes it was Luna that had this, In the mixer window, if you opened an FX plugin from the inserts, there was somewhere that you could enable all the inserts to show up in one long scrolling window, similar to the effects rack in Soundtoys or guitar rig. I mostly use PT & Logic and it's not in those daws. Hopefully someone from UAD can chime in!

I would have to start Luna first, but from memory there is an option to change the size of the individual palettes in the mixer view. It depends on whether you can/must scroll to see the whole palette

That used to be a feature, it fell out during an update. They’ve commented that it could come back. It was fun, but a channel with a lot of plug-ins could overwhelm the screen.

This had some issues and was removed.

You can still do it in Console, but not LUNA.

Let the team know you want it back via the Feedback system.

I'm gonna let the feedback team know I DON'T want this to happen. I like it the way that it is.

It's just an option, you do not HAVE to use it. IOW, it won't take anything away from you.
For what I'm doing, it WOULD take something away.

Nevertheless, it doesn't currently exist in Luna anyway, so it's a moot point unless UA decides to re-release this feature into the wild. If so, please make it with an option to turn it on/off.

Would love to hear more about this. I presume it has to do with kb maestro or the like?

It's a specific mode you have to enter and until and unless you do, it can't impact anything.

It's just related to a little Stream Deck (and KB Maestro) project I've had going on for a while. Hoping to share it here soon enough. It will likely (still working out some trigger kinks) have user definable names (no more MCU 6 char limit) and individually assignable thumbnail pic (e.g. 1176 AE thumbnail for the the 1176 AE plugin) for each plugin that shows up on each insert button on the Stream Deck. There will be eight insert buttons. One for each insert of the selected channel. Push the insert button, and the plugin opens. Push the insert button again, and the plugin closes.

Same for a plugin favorites section I've included. Hit an insert button, hit the plugin button you want, and now it's inserted. Also, control of plugin presets, enable/disable/remove/power on/off, etc. Open/close plugins with one button push (no MCU menu diving). Plugins auto open on a user defined window. Plus other things as well. All from the Stream Deck and all without a mouse.

It's been a lot of work. One of the hardest, most time consuming parts has been building it in such a way so that users can't break it, and it fits as many use case scenarios and states as possible. So I don't want UA to break it instead, though I've really put a lot of thought into how this can be built in a robust (or at least easily fixable) way to mostly avoid issues with breakage, barring a major redesign of the GUI by UA. That'll ultimately be what versioning of these SD profiles will be for.

So if it's a specific mode in Luna that will be user defined as on or off, then I guess I don't care. It just sounded like, when it originally existed, that it wasn't an option to turn on or off.

It is.

It's always been this way. It's a Console feature we've had for YEARS. So no worries for your project.
