Opportunity to add a 3rd UAD-1 -- need advice

Hi all.

Does anybody happen to have (or have knowledge of) a third UAD-1 successfully installed in a WinXP system with an Intel 865 mobo and the following PCI slots in use

slot 1 - empty (this is where it might go)
slot 2 - audio card
slot 3 - firewire adapter
slot 4 - existing uad-1
slot 5 - existing uad-1

I've been out of the computer hardware game so long that I wouldn't dare assume I know anything about how the IRQs, conflicts, etc. might hash out.

I had a buddy offer me his UAD-1 for a steal of a price. I need to figure out if I can successfully integrate it into the above. Feedback and guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've already inquired with UA but

UPDATE: UA replied that all I need is an empty PCI slot. I'm skeptical (IRQs and such). Would really appreciate some input from people with similar configurations.

44 views and no input? Nobody???

UA simply replied \"all that's required is an empty PCI slot.\" I find that hard to believe. I mean, I can put it physically into the system if there's any old empty PCI slot, but I'm doubtful that any old configuration = reliable system performance. Am I wrong?

As far as I know slot 1 and 5 are shared most of the time wich in this case would be fine as uad has no problems with sharing with itself. No garantees ofcourse especialy if you don´t mention the mobo!

Thanks, secretworld. Mobo has Intel 865 chipset as far as I know.

Since you're getting it from a buddy, I would suggest to just try it and see if it works because nobody can tell you for sure.
