OT: matrox G450 settings

Sorry for OT, but I know that a bunch of UAD people also use the Matrox dualhead cards.

I'm running into trouble with a large project: 2x UAD fully loaded, performance meter in SX 3 around 90% on a 3.4Ghz P4 with 2G RAM. Every time the screen updates (cause the song progresses) I get drop outs.
on a hunch I decided to set the matrox so that my two monitors have same settings (you can also choose to have seperate settings for each monitor). Now I can play the project without glitches, but all program windows pop-up in the middle of the desktop, which means half on one monitor, half on the other. this becomes annoying quickly

How have other Matrox owners set things up, and does anybody know how to have program windows pop up in one monitor while using the same settings option. (I've tried a bunch of the multi-display options, but no luck..)
Thanx
JW

Btw bus mastering is off, and no IRQ sharing except for the two UADs.

I would say that with the UAD-1's fully loaded and the SX meter at 90%, you can't expect any system to perform glitch free (although this MAY be possible on some systems).

On another note I would upgrade the G450 to a P650 at your earliest convenience. The G450 is not fully AGP2.0 complient even though it reports itself as so #-o , this causes some undesirable behaviour on some motherboards.

Hope this is usefull...

Hello

uninstall the Matrox drivers and use the windows drivers! this solved my problems with the G450. You'll have two separate screens and no clicks when moving something from screen to screen. and no popups in the middle of both. furthermore evereything is running much smoother.
Hope this helps

regards.
