nice...

but - wouldn't you want open air between you and the monitors instead of havin the racks and stuff there wouldn't they be better at the back of the room so you get an un-obstructed audio path??

It might not matter in that room but I always thought for a mastering suite that was preferred.

Kind regards

Two-part answer on that one - (1) The photo is a little misleading from that angle... At the seating position, everything is within eye-shot (it really does look tight in that photo - Didn't notice that before). (2) The desk is a Sterling Modular unit - It's essentially an acoustically transparent \"skeleton\" with a top on it. All of the other reflective surfaces have been accounted for and treated at the second reflection points.

I'd say that it's a tiny bit of a compromise, but the workspace was a must.

It's gorgeous! I, too, was wondering about reflections off the rack gear, as well as reflections off the side walls & closeness of the monitors to the back wall. Are these also just a camera angle thing?

Yes and no... Now that I look at the photo, the speakers look like they're butted right up on the wall (hey, I'm not a professional photographer  )

And they *are* fairly close - But the drivers are nearly three feet from the wall. And if you're familiar with the cabinet design, the proximity to the wall isn't nearly as much of an issue as it would be with a rectangular cabinet of less depth (these are two feet deep by themselves).
