Ox Box Attenuator Works with Amp... But not picking up signal via SPDIF/Headphone out

Hey guys super weird problem here that I can't seem to find much about. Today my friend brought over his Traynor Bassmaster Yb2a which he thought had a blown tube because the signal could be very faintly heard from the headphone out with the volume all the way up on both the amp and the headphone out. He had been using this Traynor with Ox with no problems for over a year... Turns out his ox (and mine as we discovered) simply wasn't able to pick up the signal from the Traynor because both the amp and the attenuation works perfectly when connected to a cab.

We then hook the amp up to my ox box and we experience the same problems - no signal via SPDIF and the app isn't showing any levels. Sound can be very faintly heard dimed through the headphone out.

We then hook my ox back up to my Deluxe Reverb Reissue - and everything is back to normal. App picks up signal and everything sounds great.... What we can't figure out is how the attenuation side seems to work fine with the Traynor, however no signal can't be sent out. It's not the Ox Box as mentioned as signal is able to pass with the Deluxe.

The Traynor also works as it should directly to a cab with no Ox.

He had been using this Traynor with Ox with no problems for over a year. Does anybody have any similar experiences or possible deductions on what's going on here?

was the cab connected directly to the traynor, or does it also work with the attenuation and cab connected to ox? IOW, is it just the digital side of ox that isn’t picking up the signal?

Hi Rodd, all of that is correct. Cab connected directly works great. Ox box connected and the attentuation will work but not the digital side.

That's the conclusion that we are at as well, that the digital side of the ox isn't able to pick up the signal from that specific amp... however as I mentioned the ox was able to pair with this amp perfectly for over a year until now.

Strange! Does the output seem right when it’s connected to a cab? I wonder if somehow the impedance on the amp has changed. Does the amp have multiple outputs with different impedance or a switch to select it?
