Oxford EQ trim question

I like the Sonnox Oxford eq but wonder why I can't add gain after cutting. At the fully clockwise position the TRIM knob is at 0. I notice that the picture in the manual is different: in the center section of mine under the eq type selector is a TRIM readout and under that is the TRIM knob. The one on the UAD site has an IN button where mine has a TRIM button with + and - signs on either side of it. When I go to the manual (software v.11) the plugin is not listed. I looked it up to confirm that I bought it from UAD, and I did. Can anyone help with this?

It's how the Sony/Oxford team designed it to work.

Direct Developer plugins each have their own manual that can be found in the Universal Audio folder in Applications.

So there's no way to add gain after eq cuts? The UAD plugin page (not the manual) shows + and - buttons as in the Universal Audio folder in Applications.
