Personal experience versus the internet.

After not having a single connection problem with bluetooth using an OX stomp and a Ruby everyday / all day for work , despite constantly being told that the connection / app is no good, I decided to grab an OX Box, as I am repurposing the OX stomp for various other duties. Having read that the OX box wifi is PITA to set up, I approached it with due fear and trepidation.

I can report that it took all of 3 minutes to fully set up with the app / wifi network running a typical dual band router :)

Cue the usual suspects to respond with another round of UA bashing and accusations of being a "fanboi" ( whatever one of those is anyway). Actually, I am no fanboi of any company, just a working pro who is very appreciate of great tools that actually work. Thanks again UA.

No offence intended to those who have had genuine tech difficulties with this stuff, but I just wanted to post an honest account of a totally glitch free user experience, as I am sure many others could testify to, but maybe it's in our nature to only mention things that go wrong.

I have a Woodrow, Starlight and Ox Stomp and also rarely have connection issues. I mostly use the app with the Ox Stomp, each cab has the same reverb and chorus settings, though the music I play doesn’t need chorus often. Could the app be better, of course, though I don’t know many apps that are perfect.

That's great. Of course people with issues are a loud minority. Nevertheless it should be a rare exception.
I think all runs fine for most since the last update though.
Still a Desktop editor would be highly welcome for finetuning settings with bulky fingers.

I just did my annual OX WiFi Reset as the OX Mac app would connect then disconnect over and over. The most important thing to know about a WiFi reset is if you position yourself just right you can see the rear panel status LED through the front panel vent holes above the power jewel lamp so you only have to get out of your chair once to initiate the WiFi Reset as the connection status can be monitored through the vent holes. If I had to get out of my chair 2 or more times a year I'd be upset, but since it's just the once I'm OK with OX's annual WiFi Reset ritual. :)

we need a HAPPY CAMPER thread 🙂

All the HAPPY CAMPERS are happily playing their guitars and not sitting and waiting for a WiFi or Factory Reset  ;)

Isn't this why we have the internet? To complain while we're waiting for uploads, downloads, installs, updates and while were on hold with tech support?

That does appear to be the internet’s purpose. 🤣

In all seriousness, there is definitely a negative bias in all internet fora—those of us without issues rarely stop to post a thread on how everything is working great. That makes it hard to tell how widespread an issue is—if there's 10 people with a problem posting, one never knows if there are 0, 10, 100, or 1000 who don't encounter the issue (of for whom it's a show-stopper).

It's important to note that this does not invalidate the experiences of those who are struggling with technical issues. But it's a valuable perspective to consider regardless.

Agreed, that's the difference. The people who posted problems before made legitimate points, proven by UA addressing them.

Mine all ran great initially (amp pedals).
An update sometime around 8 months to a year ago broke everything BT connection wise.
The latest updates to the pedals, app and UA connect has seemingly fixed everything. I haven’t had a connection issue on either iPad or android since.
