I run a adkproaudio customized PC with Dual Core AMD 4200's. Nuendo 2....etc. etc. I have had a great time with my Ultrpak the past two years, and have bought many aadditional plug-ins. I recently bought this projectpak from a friend and I have alwauys been under the impression that the projectpak will act as a slave to my Ultrapak with all the 1176's and LA2A's etc. Am I wrong. I have a huge session for Sony due in a week and the last huitars are being cut tomorrow...I installed this tonight and now when I open a session I get, \"Sorry, the plug-in was unable to load...err=13\". Ummm...this is NOT good, and does not make me look fn=ondly upon a compay I have held in high regard as well as refered friends to buy products as well. I know my comps, and my spftware/hardwarez...this should not have to be an issue...i was promted to download the new version upon signing into my account after the transfer took place, with hesitence, I did... and it has blown up ion my face. I HATE 'new' versions...if it its not broke...why fix it. I basically wanted to double my power...now I have tripled my anger. Would someone ike to chime in and let me know what to do, if I need to revert from 4.5, if I need to uninstall my projectpak, or stop suppoting companies taht do not beta their stuff well before major public releases...(i.e. Apple's NEW Quicktime that literally sucks and the program was written by a child). I think we need to hire the old DrinkorDie group to maker all these young programmers know how to do things well...and right. i have a session in ten hours...I hope this gets resolved by then..or UAD will no longer have my support...I will keep my Ultrapak...but never buy another UAD piece again...and that sucks...because they are good.

Hi Chuck,

Very interesting, I'm having basically the same problem but only with the plugins Precision EQ and Plate 140. Are you having this problem with all plugs? I have 3 UAD cards (I think 1 was a flexipak, a studiopak, and a, errr, backpak? whatever, shouldn't matter). All was running well for awhile and then recently I started getting this err=13 thing as well. I did recently update to WinXP SP2 from SP1 and I think this is the problem at the end of the day. I'm trying stuff out and hope to have a (kind of) solution today. Let me know if you come up with anything.....

Just a note however, did you register your new (and old)card at my.uaudio.com and download your authorizations and install them?

Cheers,
DW

Yes, yes to all. I know better than to try new stuff like this. It happened five years ago with pro-tools...two years ago with Nuendo and Quicktime...two weeks ago with Nuendo and Quicktime...I should learn my lesson and just stick with what works...but it read, "I need to install this to make the other card recognize these plug-ins"...and yes, the Plate140 was on there, too.

Chuck, all you needed in order to have your new card run your Ultra Pak plug-ins was the new authorizations' file, not the latest UAD-1 software. Which one did you download and install?

v4.5.

I do not know the last version I had as my computer does not have a "back-date" option. Nor do I remember, hough I have had it since Summer of '05 if that helps.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you had a working X2 setup, that means you must have been using v.4.0 at least. Try going back to this one - it should be available from the UA server.

...

Oops, bummer! I just checked they have 3.9 and then 4.1 till the latest one. Try 4.1; if it doesn't work, I have v.4.0 and can upload it for you. :)

Is that not what I want right there? Version 4.0...should I uninstall, or just install on top...I am weary of uninstalling because of all of my saved settings.

Oh, sorry, I only checked ftp.uaudio.com

I think Nuendo won't lose any settings if you un-install and re-install the plug-ins - certainly not your settings within saved projects, but try installing on top first, it may work.

...

Just checked on my system and presets saved within the Nuendo plug-in windows are automatically saved here in my system:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\Akis\\Application Data\\Steinberg\\Nuendo 3\\Presets

...so I don't think you're gonna lose anything by un-installing the previous version.
