So what is the verdict on Powercore...especially the firewire version?? I guess the verb's are still killer from what I hear...

Just curious - what they have 'learned' from UAD with their new release?
Better demo policy - had you ever tried to evaluate a Powercore demo before? The Sony stuff was OK, the TC stuff was a PITA with all these fades (they were too frequent, unlike the Sony).

Better Demo Policy. Yeah right. Demo Policy not for older cards.

Seems quite lame. Should come up with a better plugin demo practice..

Older cards are quite viable and in my system run fine alongside my UAD's....

They didn't say the old cards are not good enough. Apparently, the demo timing info will be stored on the cards themselves (a la UAD-1  ) and the old cards don't seem to have that capability.

the powercore is slightly mediocre for my tastes.. i much prefer the UAD.... until you start getting into the optional plug ins.... the powercore for me is indespensible thanks to the Sony Oxford plugs.... and also the nonlin reverb.... i hear the MD3 is quite amazing, too.. but i've already got a mastering chain i'm happy with.. so i'm not plunking down the $1k now for the MD3...

Hi Guys,

The MD3 is definitely worth having. Yes, it’s expensive, but so is its sound. Absolutely exquisite, especially for a plug! IMO only.....

If you've ever used a Weiss Digital hardware unit, then you'd know the degrees of expensive sound available in the digital world.

The MD3 is undeniably worth it.

Cheers,

Agreed. I use MD3 together with the Precision plug-ins & have no problem getting mixes as loud & distortion-free as commercial releases. With very little effort, I might add!

No use in doing the Ghost thing: the authorizations will be stored on the cards themselves, a la UAD-1.

I always knew, this was bound to happen.

TC announcing dates and deadline. If you owned a lot of TC like myself, you'd know, this was inevitable.

It would be easier guessing, when world poverty would be irradicated!!

hahaha

Nope, they updated the FAQ on their site on Friday saying they found a bug and that they hope to release it by the end of this month.
