presets

I have 2 questions concerning the UAD factory presets:

1. after having installed the OSX UAD Versions I couldn't find any
factory presets at all on my HD.
The only presets that are available for me are the \"extra\" ones I
downloaded from the UA page.
Maybe I'm wrong but there should be some \"default\" factory presets
like there were under OS9 (and as mentionend in the extra preset PDF
file).
The \"extra\" presets from the UA page do not contain Fairchild presets
for instance.
Where do i get the regular factory AU presets?

2. When trying to load a dreamverb preset using the load button on it's
GUI it says \"invalid preset\".
It is only possible with the \"load setting\"(top left underneath the little
arrow down) function without getting an error message. For Logic
obviously doesn t keep the path it means navigating through many
folders each time I want to change a setting.

I have contacted UA macsupport, but they couldn't help/oviously didn't
understand my questions.
So, any help is greatly appreciated!

Not *all* UAD-1 plugins have factory presets (1176, LA-2A, CS-1). If they have any factory presets (ones that have been hard-coded into the plugin) they will show up under your host's preset menu. The exceptional case is in Logic...Logic puts built-in (hard-coded) presets under the PROG menu on the top right side of the plugin editor; not under the triangle menu which is where .aupreset files show up.

thanks James,

sometimes things are too simple to be understood

I feel really studip now, but in my defence I have to say that
I still couldn't find this in the manual!

I think we might mention it the the Read Me notes in the additional presets download, but something *should be* mentioned in the manual. I'll run through it and see if it needs some updated tweaks. Thanks.
