Pro Tools LE-MAC CPU maxing with UAD plugs

Sorry if this is a repost, but the search was not working.

Dual 2gig G5 w/ UAD-1 - My Pro Tools CPU is maxing out using only UAD plugs. I thought the UAD was supposed to relieve host CPU load. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Or has digidesign figured out how to limit 3rd party DSP based plugs...

i'm experiencing something similar with cubase sx 3.
i'm not maxing out my cpu, but each instance of uad adds to the load. i'm wondering if it has to do with the buffer settings of the uad?

Are both of you using the card in G5s? Part of this is probably due to our known G5 issues, and what we have to do to work around them (http://www.uaudio.com/webzine/2005/March/index5.html). The other aspect, on the Pro Tools side, is the VST-RTAS adapter does add a little more host CPU per plugin, an unfortunate side effect.

I have a similar problem. Dual G4 800MHz and running Digital Performer 4.52. Since i installed the UAD-1 driver (3.8) my CPU load has more than doubled on the same projects. And the load increases way too much when i add UAD plugs. My first guess is that it has something to do with dual CPU support.. especially since i found this: http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technot ... 31534/view
Maybe the problem is not fully fixed?

I just reinstalled everything and still got the same problem
