problems with apollo 8p inputs

hello there, guys !
i have problem with my apollo 8p here.
im using 1/4 inch cables to plug synthesizers to the back of the audio interface.
i receive perfect sound the synth on channel 1 to 4, i can even hear the little click sound when i switch between line to mic on those channels..
but when i plug 1/4 inch cables to channels 5-6-7-8 i cant get any signal from the synth plus when i switch from line to mic it does not make any of those little click noises metioned earlier. if i plug XLR to does channels im able to get signal..
do you guys think its broken ?? is it normal ? Or im i doing something wrong here?

im my opinion i should have the same signal on on the channels right ??

oi mean i shoul have signa coming the same on every 8 1/4 inch input 1 to 8 ?? tight **

You are correct, it should 'just work'. The only thing I can think of is to double check that your cables/devices/the ports you're plugging into are correct.
