Pultec + Orchestral Libraries

Hi,

I've never really used the Pultec EQ (or the Pultec Pro, which I have), but I've been using it loads lately on some orchestral productions, using libraries such as EWQLSO and SAM.

When something doesn't quite stand out or is a little weak, I throw in a Pultec on an insert and... F**K... it's doesn't half bring the part to life. Absolutely amazing.

Just thought I'd share this with everyone :D

Kind regards,
Peter

I concur. A tad of 10khz will make your strings sound a whole lot more vinyl-esque. In a good way of course!

Yeah the Pultec is really good! Thanks for reminding me! I always think I need the 1073 for high end shimmer but the Pulteq is reeeaaallyy good at that too! :D

Fascinating: I found that making my recordings sound more vinyl, at least on close-miked libraries, was often about cutting high end rather than adding it, especially on VSL. What libraries do you use it on sniper and do you tend to use an IR afterwards to warm the sound after you brighten it?
