i am trying some presets for vocal tracking...
and i am confused.
Many vocal presets for tracking provide so low gain. many of them has very low output level.
why is that?
if i use those presets, vocal is recorded so low level.
why did many different engineers make that presets with low output level? any reasons?
and also,... what will be the solution?
1) use manley mic preamp on insert
2) use manley mic preamp on usison + use compressor on the insert to get extra gain and compression
3) just crank up the output.
well, i know all of them can work, but i'm really curious about the reason why presets are made with super low output level...so wondering the intention of the preset makers.
