realverb pro user presets

other than the ones that come with the updates, there are literally thousands of them at your fingertips.

I bought the Audio Damage Reverence reverb yesterday (and once for mac on accident! )
I havent given it the 5 minutes of closed eyes listen, but it's prettty nice, very different from all the UA and poco reverbs that I've been using. Very full sounding.
At 39$ its a steal. Matter of fact, for the type of music I create, all the AD plugs are rather fantastcic.

END COMMERCIAL

I too would like to know of some Realverb Pro settings that have been really tweaked professionally. The ones that come with the plugin are ok...but I know the plugin can sound better.

you need to understand that those \"professional\" patches were made for a specific instrument, to be in a specific part of the chain, for the specific mix they were working on at the time, and will have absolutely no relevance to what you are trying to do now.

some presets, just to use as starting points

I appreciate that but I am sure that there are many people that probably use this stuff day in and day out that make some presets, just to use as starting points. ie nice vocal, Snare hit ect... That is what I would like some pro to share with me. The factory presets are way over the top always over effected . Some of us just need a touch of verb at our fingertips and don't want to spend the 10 minutes adjusting a complex set of perameters.

I don't know if you would call me a pro. Though I have run a studio for a living, so i guess I am.

I pretty much never work from presets. Sometimes I might scroll through the factory ones just to hear some permutations on a particular track. But in the end I will always use the controls on the effect to make it sound right for the song/track/signal chain.

I very rarely save my own settings into a preset. It just doesn't make a lot of sense in my opinion. The only time I might do this would be if I am sure I am going to use the same treatment and bus structure on two songs. And in this case I will likely just put the two songs into the same session.

The point saemskin is trying to make is EXTREMELY valid.

If you really want your music to sound good, there is NO EXCUSE for not learning the tools and using them yourself. You don't have to be a genius to get a good sound. You just have to spend that "10 minutes".

And the next time, it will take 8 minutes, and the next time 6 minutes... ...

That being said... presets are useful, I guess for learning the tool. Over the next several sessions, if I use this plugin I will save a few presets and you can have them. Might be a little while... I'll post back.

I think you are right mbmusic...
There are a lot of pros that use presets for starter points. I know several here in Music City that use presets on hardware gear and plugs that I don't have (mainly protoolHD plugs.) I bought the plate 40 plugin and the presets are way cool for starting points...and very well labled.

cAPSLOCK, I understand every song is different and demands different settings on effects...but a good preset for a starting point can get you in the ball park quickly...and be impressive to the client if he/she wants a change in effect settings while looking over your shoulder! :)
